What is constipation?

Constipation is problems with hard stools or more days between each one has bowel movements. In most cases, constipation harmless, but it may be the symptom of another disease.

What are the symptoms of constipation?

Pain or bleeding associated with bowel movements.
Sensation that you are constantly in need even after you have had the bowel.
My stomach feels bloated.

What can cause constipation be?
  • Insufficient intake of fluids
  • Too little fiber in your diet. Fiber keeps the water and gives softer stool.
  • For low metabolism
  • Irritable colon
  • Back pain
  • Chronic renal failure
  • Cancer of the colon or rectum
What should be particularly aware of?
  • If you use certain drugs. Among other things, atropine, calcium blockers, beta-blockers, depression tricyclic agents, morphine-like substances, iron and gastric acid neutralizing agents
  • If you are not very physically active, getting a slightly constipated.
What to eat / drink to avoid constipation?

The diet should be balanced with high-fiber content. That means plenty of bran, fruits and vegetables.

You should drink at least eight to ten glasses of water a day.

If you drink hot water, tea or coffee can also stimulate bowel movements.

It may be helpful to add prunes and plum juice.

You should avoid white bread, cakes and sugar.

Another good advice to avoid constipation?

Get regular exercise because it strengthens the digestive functions and helps to reduce stress.

One should get used to regular bowel movements. The best time is often in the first hour after breakfast. One should not try to hurry but to sit at least ten minutes, whether it is feces or not.

Heat Treatment with covers, hot-water bottle or electric blanket can relieve the discomfort.

It may be helpful to keep a diary so you can be aware of what produces the symptoms.
